History of Enniscorthy Rockin’ Food Festival

Back in the early 1980’s, Enniscorthy could be described as nothing short of a “Hot Bed” of Rock N’ Roll activity. Like most small Irish towns, the Rock N’ Roll and Rockabilly scene fell dormant for some time and lost both its international and national prominence. However, the die hards of Enniscorthy did not allow for their music to die out, and in more recent times, have re-ignited local interest putting Enniscorthy back on the Rockin’ map. Now the South East is swinging with more gigs, festivals and dances than ever before.

During the Enniscorthy Rockin’ Food Festival this August Bank Holiday (4th – 7th), a vast collection of Rockabilly, Rock N’ Roll and Rhythm and Blues musicians and bands will perform over the course of the weekend. Catch Ruby Dee and The Snakehandlers on both August 5th and 6th in the IFA Centre Enniscorthy as well as Jive Cats, Gene Gambler and The Shufflers, Riley and The Moonrockers and many more. Undecided of who to follow? Why not follow or delve in and out of the Rock N’ Roll Gig Trail, find full details on the trails brochure. Rock your socks off this August Bank Holiday in the Rock N’ Roll town of Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.
